Interesting zendala.... kept seeing a wheel... then feathers... took me a while to work on it..  so here are two  the first i added color... blue skies, green grass, red robins and yellow sunshine... thinking spring! Beadlines, Birds on a Wire, fescue, and zebra sticks were used.

The next one  I Call Indy Wheel... Living in Indiana..and home of the Indianapolis 500 race... just goes to say... Checkerboard is a must!!  Tadpoles, antz inside the wheel add to the finished line!

Just In time for valentine's day.. here are some "Love " themed bookmarkers! Perfect for that romantic novel!!

Zendala Dare #90

I am home watching the snow storm bring us more snow..which we do not need..unless we plan on making an igloo or a giant snowman!!  the temperatures are falling and the wind is causing alot of drifting..so it will be a nasty drive in the morning! Glad I do not have to go anywhere and so I plan on staying home and working
on some creative things!  That is the great thing about storms... you make Cabin fever a good thing!!

I played around with this dare..and it took some time to figure it out.   I know the request was for our favorite Tangle.. which mine is Zinger! However..I could not figure out how to use it in this one..so I just settled for these!  2N5 in the center, jonqal  and the border is Fancy Nancy..which reminds of my sister, Nancy! I decided to use my colored pencil and make it colorful..as all birthday celebrations should be!!
So this is my contribution this week! I may think on it more and do another..but this is it for now!
Happy Birthday Erin!!

Zendala Dare #89

This one was a challenge.. I really wasn't sure what to do with the center so I used one of my favorites..Zinger for that! then Drip Drop, Brix and steps. the semi-circles are just cross-hatched.
It's not real good..but just SO busy this week.. I really hadn't had time to work much on it!
there is always the next one!

Zendala challenge #88

this one took me awhile to decide what I wanted to do with it.  I worked with pencil somewhat then went from there!  I used Gingham, Auanshi, Pokeweed, Striping and the greek key (which I'm not sure the actual Tangle name for that one.)
I like how it turned out.. almost floral looking to me!

zentangling

I have discovered an art form that in a sense I've done since very young. I doodled all the time,  drawing on papers, margins on letters, even little trees or whatever on the flap of envelopes before sending them out!
Funny, I never cared much for art when in elementary, but when I become a middle aged adult I grew to want to learn more. so a few drawing classes, and painting classes, i was on my way.

I manage an art gallery co-op here where I live consisiting of about 20 artists from the area.
We had a class taught and I decided to take it. I was so glad i did. It was called Zentangle©
, and is a creative form of doodling!  Do a search on zentangle and you will find LOTS of sites!

The Zentangle® Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. It was created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas. "Zentangle" is a registered trademark of Zentangle, Inc. Learn more at zentangle.com.

I zentangle on anything... cards, lampshades, mugs, and even Tennis shoes. I zentangled some ornaments to sell for Christmas, as well as greeting cards. Right now I am working
on a bunch of bookmarks to give away at a workshop the end of february.

take a look at some of my work:
                                                               a greeting card
                                                               Wood Letter
                                                               gourd that we grew
                                                            how about a sneaker??

                                                                 11x14 art piece

One nice side effect, is it has helped me lose 40#'s of weight! I am an evening snacker, and I work on this mostly in the evening..so I zentangle instead of eating!  When My doctor commented on my weight loss, and asked how I was doing it.. he gave me a blank stare, so I got me cell phone and showed him my work.

This fall I had the opportunity to do a zentangle carousel horse on a mural at our local mall that had a circus theme!   that was fun!

So... if you are looking for something to do, that is creative, relaxing, and involves just straight, curved lines and circles... give it a try!!

have a creative day!!
